Hello. I’m LaRonda Zupp. I just met a few people who thought I still worked at a former job. I realize, some people still don’t know what I currently do. So I’m grabbing the opportunity to let you know what’s up with me.
A long time ago, I used to work as a school counselors at a Deaf school – WSD – Washington School for the Deaf. I did that for 10 years. Then I moved on and became a Parent Educator. I did that for 8 years – working with Deaf and hard of hearing parents with SJCD – St. Joseph’s Center for the Deaf in Hayward, CA. Sadly, that agency closed. I then moved on to work with DCARA here in the Bay Area. At that time, i took a job working with Deaf Senior Citizens as a Client Support Specialist. I did that for about 7 months and then I became promoted to Director of Client Support Services with DCARA. I worked for almost 3 years with that organization until I decided to move on. Oh, I send love to DCARA. There are no bad feelings, but it was time to move on.
Now what do I do? I decided to set up a new business. Me… I’m a business owner. A Deaf, Female Business Owner! Whoo-hoo! I’ve been doing that since 2011. In that time, I’ve taken a lot of new and advanced training to achieve certification and masters certification in several different areas. First, I became a Master Certified Retreat Coach, a Master Certified Seasons of Change Coach, which focuses on helping people navigate their many life changes. Then I set up my business called Turtle Heart Retreats. Actually, I just added more coaching programs. I am also currently taking training for more certification in a program called Purpose Clarity Program. I continue building my skills through more training as I go. Basically, I have made a new career shift at this point in life.
So I have become a business owner, learning the ins and outs of setting up a business, and life coaching and leading retreats. So my business is called Turtle Heart Retreats and here is what I do: I provide Deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened and hearing people (by using sign language interpreters) opportunities for H -healing, E- exploring, A- awakening, R- renewal and T- transformation. Those letters spells the word Heart in my business name. The word Turtle in the name Turtle Heart represents slowing down, moving at your own pace, going within and exploring what lies inside of you as you move through your life. You feel renewed as a result.
That’s my visions for my Turtle Heart Coaching & Retreats business which has been running since 2011. It’s been successful! Still up and running. I feel great about what I do for my life work. My retreats and coaching focus on self-love, a lot of people don’t know how to love themselves. And if they can’t love themselves, then it’s hard for them to practice self-care. So my coaching and retreats focus on: 1) self-love, 2) deep self-care. I help people raise their standard of caring for themselves to a new level. It’s important to help people learn how to make themselves a priority. I teach them how to trade the word “selfish” for “self-care.” 3) Soulful renewal. A lot of people feel spiritually or soulfully empty. They feel bankrupt. Like there is nothing there. I help people get back in touch with themselves, to align their body, mind and soul. 4) I help people navigate their life transitions. I have a lot of experience and stories and a beautiful transition model to share that qualify me to help you navigate life changes. I help make those changes smoother for you.
So that’s what I do. I focus on: 1) self-love, 2) self-care, 3) soulful renewal and 4) helping you navigate life changes. If you want to know more about my Turtle Heart Retreats business, please visit my website: www.turtleheartretreats.com.
