LaRonda sheds light on her computer experiment.
Transcript:
Hello. Did you see my recent Vlog? The one where I was just sitting here, bored, in front of my computer… my eyes roaming the screen… my hair, a mess…. my body sore… my muscles stiff… everything hurt! That’s what computers do to us! Oy!
Really, I just recently experimented with this. I turned my web cam on “record” just to see what happens and later watch myself to see how I look in front of the screen. But as I looked, I saw these dark circles under my eyes, my hair in disarray, I looked chubby and my body ached! Oh my goodness! What a revelation!
WE NEED SELF-CARE! Take care of yourselves! Oy! Really, because, these days, we are using computers day and night – all the time! It’s pretty awful! I just thought I would share that earlier video with you. Gee.
Bye (ILY wave)

Oh boy, can I relate to that! Strange to say, I retired to get away from double-computer fixation 45 hours a week, only to do EXACTLY the same thing at home! Don’t we ever learn!

The secret is to condition yourself to a timetable online, I allot a maximum of ONE hour perhaps a day, often it is half that (It just looks like more !), I don’t surf everything, that is pointless time-wasting, I have x amount of sites, and I visit them ONLY, I don’t go anywhere else. With 4 million plus blogs a day you need to be online 24/7 then you would still miss 99% of them. If online is taking up many hours a day, then yes a life IS needed, because if you are on a computer you are not interacting much face to face are you.
If you aren’t careful you may end up on facebutt or twitter talking inanities to pass your day (God forbid!). I subscibe to NO social sites, I prefer real people in real time when I do. 45 HOURS a week ! good heavens, do you not sleep at all
Mostly they say 98% of websites/blogs online are a waste of broadband….
Less than 2% promote anything like intellectual discussion, debate, or education…

Loved your computeritis vlog! My prob is too much work at the computer (and yes, it can get boring) and I end up with fixated eyes, eww. Then I switch to a munchie snack and the news blogs or DR for a break to kick back around 4 in the afternoon, that’s my reward for working all day. Weekends are usually off limits as far as the computer goes, as I’m back on remodeling our house these days. Now THAT’s exercise that can wear a body down!
