Introducing my CODA son as he gives his support to vote for my blog for the DeafRead v/blog awards. He’s just toooo cute! I had to share. This was HIS idea and HIS script, but he did ask me to film him and put it on my v/blog. It never hurt to have an angel in your corner. Here is my CODA angel, Paul.
Transcript:
“Hi! Since I was small, my mom has told me a lot of stories.
Her stories make me laugh and crack up!
My mom is the BEST storyteller in the world!
Please vote for my mom’s blog: Ear of My Heart (dot) com
Yeah!”
Thank you to the readers who nominated my v/blog for 3 different categories for the 2007 year. (Best Blog of the Year, Best New V/Blog, & Best Storyteller.) To be nominated by my d/Deaf peers was very touching. V/blogging over the 2007 year was a wonderful journey. I met so many beautiful d/Deaf spirits out there in the world and learned a great deal about myself along the way. Thank you for walking along with me.
My heart is full.

Kiddo, you have worked hard at this! We will be watching ……… and waiting to see what happens (and what the others have to offer). Politics is pretty thick right now!

Thanks everyone. My son thinks it’s cool that you liked his vlog. So do I.
Yes, Rick M., it’s a shameless plug for votes. I’m just playing the game. (smile)
The biggest honor was being nominated by my d/Deaf peers. That spoke volumes to me. However the vote turns out is not as important to me as being nominated was. But thank you all for your votes.
See-see…
Hugs.

Paul, How great to see you support your Moms stories. She is so animated when she tells them. I think she must have learned some from her Auntie Norrine. Our family has been telling stories around the camp fire for years. Your Mom has added so much to our annual Fresno Dome camp-out. We all look forward to the stories from her because she both signs and speaks for us who are unable to sign. What a gift she is to our family.
I Love you Paulie,

Your son did a great job doing this vlog in support of “The Ear of My Heart” vlog. He signed very clearly and I understood everything. I really enjoy seeing any coda kid wholeheartedly supporting the Deaf parent.
It’s the real deal.
And good luck at the 2008 DeafRead conference nominations.

Tsk Tsk.. you should be ashamed of yourself for blatantly using your own flesh and blood in order to further your vlog career! I am calling the welfare monsters to come and flash on your door
That is child labor so I am also calling the union officers. Let’s see…. who else shall I call?
oh well… guess I’ll just have to call it a cute plug for your vlog
Good going, kid! *high five* (say.. how much did she pay you?)
LOL
hope to see more - smile
