In this ASL video clip, LaRonda lightheartedly encourages readers to keep reading her summer-cliffhanger storyblog posted here at The Ear of My Heart, and up on DeafRead. The story is about how LaRonda became deaf and how she adjusted to, accepted and ultimately celebrated that transition and journey into Deafhood. The final chapter will complete on Aug. 8th, 2007. Hi! (read my shirt)
You’re not finished with me yet? Whew! You don’t want to throw me away? Good!
You probably know that I’ve been posting many chapters of my story up on Deafread. I post about 3 chapters a day. Why I have increased to 3 chapters per day is because several of you have been screaming out for more! Some of you don’t want to be left hanging! It’s true. My story does have many cliffhangers, but that’s a symbol of a good writer! I feel very proud. It means people want more!!! It keeps them coming back to read.
Yet, there is also a risk. I don’t want people to turn away and give up on the story because there isn’t enough of it in one sitting. I hope you’ll continue reading along with me daily. I thought maybe if I added this video clip (vlog) it might encourage you to stick with the reading.
My story will end on August 8th, not August 30th as originally planned, because I have chosen to add more chapters each day to meet your requests. This is what some of you have asked for. I hope this is okay.
One thing I notice when you read my chapters is that some of you are reading the first daily chapter or the last daily chapter, but you’re skipping the middle chapter. Wait! Don’t skip a chapter. If you’re not reading each chapter, it means you will miss the chronological order of the events. You might miss an important part of the story. So, anyway, I wanted to encourage you to read each of the 3 daily chapters. They’re not too long and they’re enjoyable.
One day, I hope you’ll look back and say, “Oh, I remember that woman, LaRonda! She’s now a famous deaf author!”
Whoo! That’s my goal: To one day publish my book. I’m giving you all a preview now — a sneak-peek!
Anyway, I hope you’re enjoying your summer. Don’t throw me away! Don’t stop reading my storyblog! Keep on going until August 8th! That’s the last day and I will complete my summer storyblog then.
